Job Description:

Position Overview:

This office-based position is primarily responsible for the design of building automation systems. Compensation commensurate with experience. S&W Controls offers a competitive compensation package that includes healthcare benefits, 401K with match, generous PTO, and more. You will be required to complete a background check, drug test, and hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities:

  • Chooses the appropriate mix of products and installation methods to provide cost-effective system designs to meet project requirements.
  • Utilizes strong technical knowledge of building systems to develop comprehensive and effective designs.
  • Creates designs consisting of mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bill of materials, sequence of operations, valve and damper schedules, DDC panel layouts to meet the intent of the project plans, specifications and contract documents.
  • Prepares all required submittals and schedules for customer approval prior to construction.
  • Writes, edits, and clarifies equipment sequences of operation for efficient and proper control programming.
  • Design building automation network architecture to connect DDC equipment via BACnet or other third party protocols.
  • Analyzes plans, contract specifications, building conditions, and codes to determine project requirements and risks.
  • Acts as a technical resource to the team and customer as needed.
  • May participate in initial job site walk through with contractors and/or building management.
  • Assists in preparing engineering re-estimates and follows up with the project manager to assure understanding of and satisfaction with job scope.
  • Assists in the preparation of information on pre-installation extras or change orders to submit to the project manager.
  • Author and track Requests for Information (RFI’s)
  • Ensures the job folder is organized and maintained including all pertinent job-related information.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Electronics, Mechanical, other technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fully proficient and independent design skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
