Truck Driver (Non-CDL)
JOB LOCATION: Wilmington, NC

Report To
Foreman and/or Superintendent
Primary Function
With minimal direct supervision, will operate any company vehicles including a flatbed truck with dumping capabilities and off-road haul trucks on a construction site. May also operate trucks with a capacity of less than 26,001 GVW on public streets and highways as well as on construction sites. May transport and deliver construction material or equipment to job sites or from place to place on job sites. May be required to load and unload trucks. Must have valid North Carolina Drivers license but is not required to have a commercial drivers license (CDL).
Job Duties
Climb on, over and around a company vehicle in order to perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections and secure loads.
Lift truck hoods, product or equipment and tools necessary to perform inspection, repair, loading and unloading of trucks.
Support and assist shop personnel with any required repairs.
Wash trucks, clean truck cabs, climb up and down truck washing facilities.
Work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year.
Operate the vehicle in a safe, lawful and courteous manner at all times.
Keep vehicle, cab interior and exterior clean.
Read road signs and follow written or verbal directions.
Maintain contact with appropriate managers by radio, GPS or telephone to inform them of delays, problems, or unusual situations.
Work long, flexible hours as demanded by our customer's including nights, weekends.
Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance when reporting to work and throughout the day.
Maintain and keep any operator logs and or other documentation required by regulations or the company.
Perform necessary work while complying with all company policies and procedures.
Perform additional duties as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or other manager.
Must have regular and predictable attendance.
Experience Required
1 to 3 years of experience required. Capable of safely operating heavy equipment.
Physical Demands
Heavy physical effort required including climbing, pulling and lifting or moving heavy weight material with occasional lifting or moving materials or equipment (over 80 pounds). If a position specific Physical Demands sheet is attached, it will describe in more detail the physical demands that are required.
Physical Activity
Position requires the ability to work around noise, dust, heat, cold, oil and heavy equipment. Position requires ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly and the ability to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions.
