Role Description The Advanced CNC and Robotics role is a full-time, on-site position located in Hurricane, UT. This role is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines and robotic equipment to cut, drill, and process structural and miscellaneous steel components according to engineering drawings and production schedules. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate tooling, verifying material dimensions, performing test runs, and adjusting programs to maintain accuracy and efficiency. The role also involves monitoring machine performance, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and collaborating with fabrication, engineering, and quality teams to ensure parts meet specifications and AISC quality standards. The team member is expected to follow safety protocols, document production work, support continuous improvement efforts, and assist with training and cross-functional support as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience with CNC machine setup, operation, and basic programming for metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of robotic systems or robotic automation in manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications.
- Understanding of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures) and quality checks.
- Familiarity with structural steel fabrication processes and shop practices.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for equipment and tooling issues.
- Commitment to safety procedures and safe operation of machinery and overhead cranes.
- Basic computer skills for entering production data and working with CNC/robotic interfaces.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with shop and engineering staff.
