About Us

S&S Mold & Air Inspectors LLC is a growing indoor environmental services company serving homeowners, property owners, and small businesses throughout Northern New Jersey.

Our current services focus on mold inspections, moisture investigations, indoor air quality assessments, and environmental testing. We are now expanding our services to include professional air duct cleaning and dryer vent cleaning.

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on technician who can help us build this division the right way from the beginning.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys field work, takes pride in doing a job correctly, and wants to grow with a small company rather than simply being another technician at a large operation.

What You'll Do

Primary responsibilities include:

• Perform residential air duct cleaning
• Clean supply and return ductwork
• Clean registers, grilles, and accessible duct components
• Operate professional duct-cleaning equipment
• Perform residential dryer vent cleaning and lint removal
• Clean dryer exhaust lines and exterior terminations
• Identify obvious dryer vent restrictions, excessive buildup, damaged connections, or other concerns
• Perform basic before-and-after airflow checks when applicable
• Set up and break down cleaning equipment
• Protect customers' floors, furniture, walls, and surrounding areas during service
• Take before-and-after photos when appropriate
• Load, unload, organize, and maintain equipment
• Keep work areas clean and organized
• Clearly explain the work performed to homeowners
• Identify potential mold, moisture, ventilation, or indoor-air-quality concerns that should be referred back to S&S for further evaluation

What We're Looking For

We're primarily interested in candidates with real hands-on experience performing air duct cleaning and/or dryer vent cleaning.

Ideal candidates have experience with:

• Residential air duct cleaning
• Dryer vent cleaning
• Negative-air duct-cleaning systems
• Rotary-brush or agitation systems
• Compressed-air duct-cleaning tools
• Dryer vent rods, brushes, and vacuum systems
• Working around residential HVAC ductwork
• Residential service work

Experience in restoration, indoor air quality, mold remediation, property maintenance, or another related trade is a plus.

Customer Service Matters

Technical ability matters, but how you interact with customers is just as important.

You'll be entering people's homes and representing S&S Mold & Air Inspectors.

Requirements

• Previous hands-on experience with air duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, or a closely related residential service trade
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Comfortable traveling throughout Bergen, Hudson, Passaic, Essex, and surrounding Northern NJ areas
• Able to lift approximately 50 lbs
• Comfortable using ladders
• Comfortable working in basements, attics, utility areas, and other tight spaces
• Comfortable using power tools and professional cleaning equipment
• Reliable communication regarding scheduling and job availability
• Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

The following are a plus but not required:

• Professional air duct cleaning experience
• Professional dryer vent cleaning experience
• NADCA training or certification
• HVAC duct-system knowledge
• IICRC certifications
• Restoration-industry experience
• Experience working directly with residential customers

Schedule

This will initially be a part-time position with work scheduled based on customer demand.

Hours may include weekdays and occasional weekends.

As our air duct and dryer vent cleaning business grows, there will be opportunities for more jobs, additional hours, and increased responsibility.

We're looking for someone interested in growing with the company rather than someone looking only for occasional short-term work.

Growth Opportunity

The right technician could eventually take responsibility for:

• Running duct-cleaning and dryer-vent jobs independently
• Managing company equipment
• Performing customer walkthroughs
• Helping develop our cleaning procedures
• Training future technicians
• Taking a lead role in the duct and dryer vent division
