Multi Family - Electrical Superintendent (5+ yrs experience required)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to oversee multi-family construction projects from pre-construction through project completion. This leadership role is responsible for managing field operations, supervising electrical crews, coordinating with project management and other trades, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within quality standards.

The Electrical Superintendent will serve as the primary on-site leader for electrical operations and play a critical role in maintaining productivity, schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction on large-scale multi-family developments.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all day-to-day electrical construction activities on multi-family construction projects.
• Manage and supervise field personnel, including Foremen, Lead Electricians, Apprentices, and Helpers across multiple crews and building phases.
• Coordinate electrical installations throughout all stages of construction, including underground, rough-in, trim-out, lighting, and final commissioning.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, and project schedules accurately.
• Develop and maintain short-term and long-term project schedules to ensure milestones and deadlines are achieved.
• Coordinate closely with General Contractors, Project Managers, inspectors, vendors, and other trades to maintain workflow and project progress.
• Conduct regular site walks to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications and company standards.
• Maintain OSHA and company safety standards by conducting safety meetings, enforcing PPE requirements, and promoting a safety-first culture on the job site.
• Identify and proactively resolve field issues, scheduling conflicts, and installation challenges.
• Ensure material requirements are communicated in advance and coordinate deliveries to maintain project productivity.
• Manage manpower allocation and workforce planning to meet project demands.
• Monitor productivity, project costs, and labor efficiencies while maintaining quality standards.
• Coordinate inspections and ensure all electrical work complies with applicable NEC, local building codes, and project specifications.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, project documentation, and communication with the Project Management team.
• Mentor and develop field employees by providing training, leadership, and performance feedback.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial or multi-family electrical construction.

· Journeyman license minimum

• Previous experience leading large electrical crews and managing multi-building or multi-phase construction projects.
• Proven experience scheduling manpower and coordinating construction activities.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and construction safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, one-line diagrams, lighting control systems, and panel schedules.
• Hands-on electrical field experience and strong troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Procore or other construction management software.
• Experience managing large-scale multi-family or mixed-use developments.
• Knowledge of lighting control systems, fire alarm systems, access control systems, and building automation systems.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and coordination with other trades.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends as required to meet project schedules.

Work Location: Multi-family construction projects located throughout Central Virginia, including Richmond, Charlottesville, and surrounding areas.
