What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder - 1st & 2nd Shift Available position at S & S Cycle?
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for joining metal parts using various welding techniques including MIG, and/or TIG. The ideal candidate will be able to follow safety protocols, and produce strong, clean welds that meet specifications. This role plays a critical part in the manufacturing process of the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Set up components for welding according to specifications.
Operate welding equipment (MIG primarily, TIG experience a plus)
Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Observe and inspect parts to ensure quality specifications are met
Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices
Complies with all PPE requirements, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety toed shoes
Assists in other production areas as needed or related activities as assigned by supervisor
Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees
Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship preferred
Proven experience as a welder (minimum 1-3 years)
Proficiency with welding tools and techniques
Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
Well organized and self-directed
Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment is a plus.
Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion
