A-Level Automotive Technician

This is a Monday-Friday position.

Position Summary

The A-Level Automotive Technician is an experienced, highly skilled technician responsible for accurately diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of domestic and import vehicles. This position requires strong diagnostic ability, attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to work independently while supporting the overall success of the shop.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex automotive problems accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform advanced diagnostic testing using scan tools, test equipment, and service information.
  • Perform mechanical repairs including engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, brakes, electrical, HVAC, and drivability systems.
  • Complete inspections and identify additional safety and maintenance concerns.
  • Follow manufacturer procedures and shop repair standards.
  • Properly document diagnostic findings, repairs, and recommendations.
  • Communicate clearly with service advisors regarding vehicle condition, diagnostic results, and repair needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Properly use and care for shop equipment, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Complete repairs correctly the first time and verify repairs before returning vehicles to customers.
  • Assist other technicians when needed and help develop less-experienced technicians.
  • Maintain productivity and efficiency while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an automotive technician.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to diagnose electrical, mechanical, and drivability concerns.
  • Strong understanding of modern vehicle systems and computer-controlled components.
  • Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and technical service information.
  • Own quality hand tools appropriate for the position.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move automotive components and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a shop environment around vehicles, tools, equipment, noise, and automotive fluids.
  • Ability to safely operate shop equipment and diagnostic tools.

Performance Expectations

The A-Level Technician is expected to consistently produce quality repairs, accurate diagnostics, and strong technician efficiency while maintaining safety and customer satisfaction.

This is a position for a technician who can be trusted to diagnose the problem, figure out the solution, and get the job done right.

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
