What You'll Be Responsible For as a Steel Erection Superintendent
As a Superintendent at S&R, you are the field leader. Your decisions drive safety, schedule, and success.
You Will
- Lead crews and clearly communicate project plans.
- Manage manpower, equipment, and daily jobsite operations.
- Oversee crane selection, rigging, and lift planning.
- Interpret structural, erection, and shop drawings.
- Ensure compliance with AISC, OSHA Subpart R, AWS, and safety standards.
- Coordinate vendors, materials, and deliveries.
- Enforce safety programs and site-specific plans.
- Complete reports, timesheets, and job documentation.
- Support project planning, budgeting, and execution.
What You Need To Succeed
- Journeyman-level ironworker experience.
- 8-10 years in steel erection or structural steel industry.
- 5 years in a leadership or superintendent role.
- Strong knowledge of codes: AISC, RCSC, SJI, SDI, AWS D1.1/D1.5.
- Ability to read and interpret complex drawings.
- Experience with jobsite setup, crane operations, and rigging.
- Proven leadership in crew management and field operations.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and accountability.
- Basic computer and reporting skills.
- MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL
- Competitive Salary: $150,000 - $170,000 per year (based on experience).
- Per Diem: $800 - $1,000 weekly per diem.
- Monthly Housing Allowance: Because this job is nationwide, we will provide a monthly housing allowance, as needed.
- Monthly Truck Allowance: $800 - $1,000 truck allowance per month.
- 401(k): With company contribution.
