.We are looking for a motivated and reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our excavation and land development crew. The ideal candidate will be skilled in operating excavators and comfortable performing a wide range of sitework tasks including land clearing, grading, stormwater work, and general labor when needed.
Duties
- Safely operate excavators for digging, grading, trenching, and clearing
- Operate other equipment as needed such as:
- Skid steers
- Dozers
- Compactors
- Dump trucks (if licensed)
- Perform land clearing tasks including using chainsaws
- Assist with storm drain installation, pipe laying, and backfilling
- Perform general labor tasks when required (spotting, shoveling, hand grading)
- Maintain and care for equipment daily
- Follow all company safety procedures and site rules
- Work as part of a productive, efficient crew
Qualifications
- Experience operating excavators (required)
- Ability to run multiple types of heavy equipment
- Comfortable using a chainsaw and hand tools
- Willing to perform general labor tasks when needed
- Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus but not required)
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery and ability to perform basic troubleshooting
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, or site plans is a plus
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks in outdoor environments for extended periods
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 60 per week
Work Location: In person
