Pricing Analyst

Summary: This position will support SPR pricing strategy with focus on sales and margin improvement for SPR. The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Merchandizing, and other departments in development of new analytical tools and capabilities that will support pricing strategy.

Location: Smyrna-Vinings, GA (near Braves Stadium)

Work Hours: Mon-Fri (Standard Office Hours)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Retrieve, transform, and analyze data by utilizing multiple platforms and processes.

• Visualize price performance and areas for improvement in price, margin, and market share
• Evaluate large business proposals and margin enhancement opportunities.
• Understand SPR’s various contract structures as well as the competitive market conditions and provide ongoing analysis of those shifting conditions and their impact on SPR’s margins and sales.
• Convert business strategies into mathematical algorithms in the PROS pricing software
• Successfully influence and manage internal relationships to achieve agreed-upon price and margin objectives.
• Advise and influence Sales Leaders towards optimal pricing strategies for their books of business

• Highly analytical with the ability to solve complex business problems using advanced data analytics techniques
• Understanding of pricing, finance, and business profitability concepts
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams on business process enhancements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• A Bachelor's degree in Business or STEM fields is required
• Preferred 1 - 2 year experience in office products industry or pricing role
• Advanced experience with Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot
• Advanced experience with data transformation/data cleansing software, such as Alteryx, or advance knowledge of SQL
• Preferred experience with data visualization software, such as Power BI or Tableau
• Preferred experience with pricing software, such as PROS, Zilliant, Price FX, Vendavo

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to managers and clients.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, margin variances, price realization.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with multiple variables.

This position requires up to 15% of travel.
