Duties
- Operate cash registers accurately, handling cash, credit card transactions, and balancing the cash drawer at the end of each shift
- Provide friendly and professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product selections
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging additional sales through upselling techniques
- Maintain knowledge of store products, promotions, and merchandising standards to enhance the shopping experience
- Assist with stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store remains clean and inviting
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about products or store services while practicing excellent phone etiquette
- Support retail sales efforts by promoting store promotions and suggesting complementary products to customers
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; grocery store experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in both bilingual (if applicable) languages
- Proficiency in POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations; basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products and perform retail math confidently
- Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities within the team
- Knowledge of retail store product lines and merchandising principles is desirable
- Ability to handle cash handling procedures responsibly and maintain accuracy in cash drawer management
