Position: Merchandising Assistant
S&K Sales Co., a family-owned Military Resale Broker, is looking to fill an entry level merchandising assistant position with the opportunity for growth. The Merchandising Assistant supports the Category Manager and Planogram Analyst by providing data analysis, reporting, and coordination to help optimize product assortment, pricing, promotions, and space planning. This role blends analytical work with cross-functional support and is ideal for someone early in their analytics or merchandising career who wants broad exposure across merchandising functions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support Planogram Analyst in creating, updating, and maintaining detailed, accurate planograms (visual shelf schematics) for assigned categories using software like JDA/BlueYonder and Spaceman.
- Assist Category Managers in conducting category reviews, analyzing product performance, and reviewing market trends
- Run weekly/monthly sales reports, monitor stock levels, and analyze inventory turns to suggest improvements in product placement.
- Manage SKU data, including creating new items, deleting discontinued items, and updating images and barcodes in the system
- Monitor in-store execution of planograms, communicate with field teams to resolve layout issues, and ensure proper product placement
- Organize and maintain product samples for review meetings and planogram setups
- Analyze space-to-sales to ensure POGs align with retailer sales.
- Attend live test sets to assist Planogram Analyst with representation of S&K Sales Co. manufacturers
- Help coordinate timelines for category updates, planogram resets, and launches
- Respond to data requests from marketing team
Skills and Qualifications:
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams); experience with cloud tools (e.g., SharePoint) preferred
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience with planogram software (JDA/BlueYonder, Spaceman) is a major advantage
