Position Summary
S&K Industrial is seeking an experienced Lead Field Installation Technician to oversee industrial field installation projects while working alongside the crew. This hands-on leadership role coordinates daily job site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently, mentors technicians, and serves as the primary on-site representative of S&K.
What You'll Do
- Lead installation projects from start to finish while actively working alongside the crew.
- Install, move, align, and repair industrial equipment, overhead cranes, mezzanines, racking, Portafab systems, and other structural components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, layout drawings, and work orders.
- Coordinate daily job site activities, communicate progress with the Field Manager, and resolve field issues to keep projects moving.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with customers on the job site.
- Train and mentor technicians while promoting safe work practices and quality workmanship.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and other material handling equipment.

Requirements & Qualifications
- 4 years of industrial installation, millwright, machinery moving, mechanical assembly, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading field crews as a lead technician, foreman, crew lead, or similar role required.
- Strong knowledge of rigging, equipment installation, blueprint reading, and precision alignment.
- Welding, fabrication, or basic electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Schedule & Travel
- Full-time hourly position with consistent overtime, including early mornings, evenings, and weekend work as needed.
- Approximately 75% travel throughout Kentucky and surrounding states, including mostly day travel with some overnight stays.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly lift and move up to 40 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
- Work safely in industrial environments, both indoors and outdoors.
Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
