Our Inside Sales team plays a critical role in that process—serving as a primary connection point between customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure quotes, orders, and shipments move smoothly from start to finish.
What You’ll Do
As an Inside Sales Representative, you’ll be a key driver of day-to-day sales and order activity. You’ll handle incoming customer and vendor inquiries, prepare accurate quotes, and manage orders from initial request through purchasing and delivery. Acting as a communication hub, you’ll partner closely with Outside Sales, Field Service, purchasing, engineering, and accounting to support strong customer relationships and reliable order execution in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers and vendors, fielding incoming calls related to new sales inquiries, order status, and general questions.
- Prepare and assemble accurate quotes for the Outside Sales team by confirming pricing, availability, and lead times with vendors.
- Manage the sales process from quoting through purchasing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipping and freight, working with vendors and carriers to support on-time delivery.
- Route qualified leads and opportunities to the appropriate Outside Sales team members for further development.
- Maintain organized records for quotes, orders, shipping details, and customer communications.
- Collaborate with Outside Sales, Field Service, purchasing, engineering, and accounting to support seamless order flow and customer satisfaction.
- Assist with resolving order issues, changes, or discrepancies to keep work moving forward.
What You Bring
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 2 years of sales experience
- Strong communication skills with a professional phone presence
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Comfort using ERP or CRM systems
Preferred:
- Inside sales experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or technical environment
- Associate’s degree or relevant coursework
- Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a plus
- Familiarity with order processing, purchasing, or logistics coordination
- Experience working cross-functionally with sales, operations, or service teams
