Duties
- Operate hydrovac trucks with precision to excavate around underground utilities, ensuring safety and accuracy during construction projects
- Conduct routine maintenance on hydrovac equipment, including cleaning, inspections, and minor repairs to maintain optimal performance
- Utilize utility locating tools and techniques to identify underground infrastructure before excavation begins
- Assist with construction grading, backhoe operation, loader handling, and other heavy equipment tasks as needed on-site
- Follow all federal construction safety regulations, equipment safety procedures, and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment for all team members
- Support excavation efforts by operating excavators and other construction machinery in accordance with project specifications
- Collaborate with construction crews to coordinate utility utility work, excavation activities, and site preparation tasks effectively
Experience
- Proven experience operating hydrovac trucks or similar heavy construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, or backhoes in a construction environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting techniques
- Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures is essential
- Previous utility locating experience using specialized tools is highly desirable
- Construction site experience with excavation, grading, utility work, or heavy equipment operation is preferred
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving or related roles is required
- Knowledge of Caterpillar machinery or similar brands will be considered an asset
