Senior Tax Accountant | Full-Time | On-Site
The Role
A growing public accounting firm is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to support a diverse client portfolio, prepare and review complex tax engagements, and provide high-quality advisory services to business and individual clients. This role is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys a mix of technical tax work, client interaction, and mentoring junior team members while working in a collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and review complex tax returns including partnerships (1065), C-corporations (1120), S-corporations (1120S), fiduciary returns, and high-net-worth individual returns (1040).
- Provide tax planning and advisory services to privately held businesses, trusts, estates, and individual clients.
- Support trust, estate, and gift tax compliance, planning strategies, and related reporting requirements.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and book closing processes for client engagements.
- Research complex federal and state tax matters and communicate recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Utilize tax preparation, planning, and research software to ensure efficient and accurate client deliverables.
- Serve as a key point of contact for assigned clients, maintaining strong professional relationships and delivering proactive service.
- Review work prepared by junior staff and provide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance.
- Collaborate with firm leadership and team members to deliver integrated tax and accounting solutions.
- Manage multiple client engagements, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced public accounting environment.
- Support practice growth through exceptional client service, relationship development, and participation in business development initiatives.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred.
- 4–6 years of public accounting experience with strong exposure to individual and business taxation.
- Experience preparing and reviewing partnership, corporate, and high-net-worth individual tax returns.
- Experience with trust, estate, and gift tax matters preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations, compliance, and planning strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Experience with CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Planner, BNA, PPC, QuickBooks, or similar tax and accounting software preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Willingness to work additional hours during peak tax seasons as needed.
Compensation
$80,000–$100,000 (or commensurate with experience and qualifications).
