Senior Manager, Transaction Advisory Services
Hybrid | NYC Metro Area / New Jersey | Full-Time | $160,000–$200,000 Base Bonus
About the Opportunity
Established CPA and advisory practice seeking an experienced Transaction Advisory professional to lead both sell-side and buy-side engagements for lower middle-market transactions, generally ranging from $10 million to $100 million across a variety of industries.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading engagements from start to finish, working directly with business owners, executives, buyers, lenders, and advisors throughout the transaction process. The position offers significant autonomy, client-facing responsibility, and the opportunity to play a key role in a growing advisory practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead sell-side transaction advisory and exit-readiness engagements, including Adjusted EBITDA development and due diligence support.
- Lead buy-side Quality of Earnings (QoE) and financial due diligence engagements from planning through final deliverables.
- Perform and oversee analyses including quality of earnings, revenue and customer concentration, profitability, working capital, and cash flow.
- Convert complex or incomplete financial records into clear, supportable analyses.
- Manage multiple engagements simultaneously while maintaining project timelines and quality standards.
- Present findings and recommendations to clients, buyers, lenders, attorneys, investment bankers, and other transaction participants.
- Mentor and develop junior team members and contribute to the continued growth of the advisory practice.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in Transaction Advisory Services, Financial Due Diligence, or Quality of Earnings within a CPA firm or transaction advisory environment.
- CPA license required; candidates actively completing licensure may also be considered.
- Demonstrated experience preparing QoE and financial due diligence deliverables.
- Strong understanding of buy-side and sell-side transaction processes.
- Experience working with cash-basis, tax-basis, and accrual accounting records.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build complex analyses from raw financial data.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks and similar accounting platforms.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with business owners and sophisticated deal professionals.
- Proven ability to independently manage engagements from inception through completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with privately held, owner-operated businesses.
- Understanding of transaction structuring concepts, including asset vs. stock transactions, purchase price allocations, and earnouts.
- Prior experience mentoring, reviewing, and developing junior professionals.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary of $160,000–$200,000, commensurate with experience, plus bonus opportunity.
