Skilled Laborer- Heavy Civil Construction
Fay is a self-perform heavy civil and industrial contractor delivering complex infrastructure projects across the Mid-Atlantic, including roads, bridges, dams, utilities, and demolition, through design-build, CMAR, and traditional delivery methods. We execute the work with our own skilled craft workforce and specialized equipment, maintaining direct control of safety, quality, schedule, and cost. This hands-on model allows us to deliver challenging projects safely, efficiently, and predictably. Typical Duties
- Implement and maintain erosion and sediment control measures on construction sites that are prone to erosion.
- Clean and prepare sites, jackhammer, possibly dig trenches, support the of excavations, clean up rubble, debris, and waste materials.
- Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials
- Load, unload, machinery, or tools, and materials, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications.
- Assist other craft workers
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- Help flagging truck movements at sites
- Applicant must be able to pass a drug test and background check
- The position location is in Norfolk, Virginia
- Three years of heavy construction laborer experience required
- Must demonstrate attention to detail
- Must be able to work well in a team environment
- Must be able to follow instructions
- Must be knowledgeable of safety procedures and practices
