Summary of Position:
S&B Christ Consulting is seeking a Electrical Designer with strong knowledge of electrical power systems and real-world installation practices.
This role is ideal for someone who has experience in electrical construction, field engineering, or power system installation and wants to transition into electrical design.
The Electrical Designer will work with engineers to develop constructible electrical designs for federal infrastructure projects, including power distribution, underground systems, and facility electrical systems.
Required Technical Skills
Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of:
- Three-phase electrical power systems
- Conduit and raceway sizing
- Voltage drop calculations
- Electrical load calculations
- Panelboards, switchgear, and transformers
- Grounding and bonding
- National Electrical Code (NEC)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop electrical design layouts and construction documents
- Assist with conduit routing and underground electrical design
- Perform basic electrical calculations
- Support engineers during project development
- Conduct occasional field visits and site verification
- Coordinate with construction teams and other disciplines
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- 10 years electrical design experience, OR
- 10 electrical trade experience (Craftsman or Master Electrician) with electrical design background
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- DOD Top Secret/SSBI Security Clearance (ability to obtain)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Communication: Regular communication with team members and clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings, requiring clear speech and auditory comprehension.
· Mobility: Occasional need to move about the office and visit different departments or offsite locations, which may involve walking, climbing stairs, or using elevators.

· Office Setting: The work is primarily performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
· Team Collaboration: Frequent interaction with team members, clients, and stakeholders in a collaborative workspace.
· Meetings and Presentations: Regular participation in meetings and presentations, both in-person and virtually.
· Site Visits: Occasional visits to project sites, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and physical terrains.
· Travel: Occasional travel is required to attend client meetings, site visits, conferences, or training sessions.
· Travel may involve extended periods away from the office and vary in frequency.
· Equipment Use: Daily use of office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, and telephones.
· Work Hours: Standard office hours with a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines and work/life balance.
