Position Overview
We are looking for experienced Superintendents for commercial projects in the Hampton Roads area. This role leads all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
Note: Candidates must reside within commuting distance of Hampton Roads. Please include a detailed list of projects you have worked on with your resume when applying.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site construction operations for assigned projects
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers on scheduling, logistics, and budgets
- Oversee subcontractor performance, quality, and compliance with project timelines
- Maintain and organize all contract documents and daily reports
- Conduct and document pre-construction and subcontractor meetings
- Prepare 3-week lookahead schedules, safety reports, incident logs, and material deliveries
- Enforce all SBBCC safety and quality control procedures on site
- Support project start-up, closeout, and issue resolution
- Must be able to obtain access to military facilities
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of commercial construction experience (general contracting preferred)
- Proven experience managing field teams and subcontractors
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and LEED practices
- Prior leadership experience on job sites preferred
