Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed tow trucks to recover, load, and transport vehicles across various locations
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to assess mechanical condition and determine appropriate towing procedures
- Load and unload vehicles with precision, ensuring secure placement on the flatbed using proper tie-down techniques
- Utilize automotive diagnostics and repair knowledge to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues when needed
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries
- Manage conflict situations professionally, providing excellent customer service even under challenging circumstances
- Maintain accurate logs of all towing activities, vehicle conditions, and safety checks in compliance with company policies
Skills
- Proven experience with flatbed tow trucks and commercial driving licenses (CDL preferred)
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic automotive diagnostics and repairs
- Familiarity with manual transmissions and automotive repair tools
- Ability to load & unload vehicles efficiently while adhering to safety standards
- Experience operating forklifts or similar equipment is a plus for handling heavy or specialized loads
- Excellent customer service skills combined with conflict management abilities
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and tow truck operations is highly desirable
