Responsibilities
- Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and structural straightening using hand tools, grinders, and welding equipment.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, masking, and surface preparation techniques to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply primers, paints, coatings, and finishes using conventional spray guns or airless paint spraying equipment with precision and attention to detail.
- Conduct automotive buffing and polishing to achieve a high-quality finish that meets industry standards.
- Use automotive surface preparation methods to restore vehicles for auto restoration projects or routine repairs.
- Operate power tools safely and efficiently for grinding, sanding, and painting tasks while adhering to all safety protocols including respiratory protection.
- Assist with auto glass replacement and minor mechanical tasks related to vehicle maintenance as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored and safety guidelines followed at all times.
Skills
- Proven dealership or automotive shop experience with a strong background in auto body repair and painting techniques.
- Proficiency with welding equipment and mechanical knowledge related to vehicle repair processes.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, grinders, sanders, and spray guns for automotive refinishing.
- Knowledge of automotive buffing, detailing, auto glass installation, and surface preparation masking techniques.
- Experience with auto estimating software is a plus for assessing repair needs accurately.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during auto restoration projects.
- Familiarity with automotive paints, coatings, surface preparation methods, and airless paint spraying systems.
