Rytech Restoration of the Midlands is seeking an experienced Mitigation Crew Chief to lead water, fire, smoke, and mold restoration projects throughout the Midlands region of South Carolina.
The Crew Chief is responsible for managing mitigation technicians, overseeing job site operations, ensuring quality standards are met, and delivering exceptional customer service during emergency restoration situations. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with restoration experience who enjoys problem-solving, mentoring team members, and helping customers recover from property damage.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise mitigation crews on residential and commercial loss projects
- Perform water extraction, structural drying, demolition, fire and smoke cleanup, mold remediation, and contents protection
- Conduct moisture inspections, document readings, and monitor drying progress
- Set up, monitor, and remove drying equipment
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with IICRC standards and company procedures
- Communicate with homeowners, property managers, adjusters, and office staff regarding project status
- Complete job documentation, photos, and daily reports using mobile devices and restoration software- Mitigate, Dash, Mica, Encircle Prefered Experience
- Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and inventory
- Train and mentor technicians while promoting a positive team culture
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency response
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 2 years of water mitigation/restoration experience
- Previous leadership or crew management experience
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, and other challenging environments
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and emergency call-outs as needed
Preferred
- IICRC WRT Certification
- ASD, AMRT, FSRT, or additional IICRC certifications
- Experience with moisture mapping and restoration software
- Construction, demolition, or rebuild experience
