Die Cast Machine Maintenance Technician

General Summary

Performs general preventive maintenance and makes machine and equipment repairs as directed. Troubleshoots equipment.

Essential Functions

• Conducts preventive maintenance on assigned machines and equipment.
• Assures that machines and equipment are kept in a safe operating condition.
• Makes emergency repairs as safely and quickly as possible to maximize machine and equipment availability to production.
• Maintains records of all PM and other work performed.
• Assists operators and other key personnel (as specified) with training to better operate and maintain their own equipment, within the scope of their responsibility.
• Provides back-up programming as required.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

• General maintenance conditions, including occasional crawling on top of and underneath equipment
• Frequent periods of crouching, kneeling, and working from heights
• Nearly constant walking and standing
• Extremely dirty and noisy work environment in certain areas of the plant
• Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds and frequent lifting of up to 30 pounds

Minimum Qualifications

• Pass hands-on and written test for this level
• Successfully complete the remaining 2 classes in the Machine Maintenance Trainee program within the given time frame
• Must meet minimum requirements on the current pay for skill matrix for this level
• No final warning for attendance
• Able to train newer machine maintenance techs
