What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entertainment Booker position at Ryman Hospitality Properties?
As the Entertainment Booker of F&B Venues for Opry Entertainment Group (OEG), you'll ensure high-quality daily entertainment through strategic talent booking across the Ole Red and Category 10 brands. In collaboration with internal and external partners, you'll maintain a strong talent pipeline to optimize performance in alignment with operational, financial, and brand objectives. As the ideal candidate, you'll bring passion for live music to deliver unforgettable entertainment experiences that connect artists and fans. Reports to Vice President of Food & Beverage Operations with OEG.
- Lead strategic entertainment programming across all F&B venues, identifying new opportunities and partnership collaborations.
- Maintain a high-quality, diverse artist talent pool aligned with daily business needs in every market.
- Develop data-driven booking strategies informed by artist performance data, industry insights, routing opportunities, and venue business goals.
- Manage event calendar with sales and operational teams to create the greatest utilization, revenue, profit, and business and operational efficiencies.
- Serve as the system administrator for Dusk, the digital talent booking platform. Use integrated Dusk reporting to guide the selection and scheduling of high-performing artists across days, stages, and venues.
- Provide regular on-site entertainment management and quality control across all F&B locations, with periodic travel as needed.
- Track artist impact on venue performance, communicating results and trends to venue and corporate leadership.
- Within our F&B venues, serve as the primary contact for artists, agents, and industry partners, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Ensure accuracy in budgets, forecasts, settlements, contracts, and artist payments. Receive, audit, and submit all entertainment-related payments in a timely manner.
- Maintain organized digital records for artist offers/contracts, budgets, agreements, and event documentation.
- Support talent booking needs for private events and collaborate closely with private events teams on special bookings, show advance, and settlement. Submit offers, negotiate agreements, and oversee contract review and processing.
- Collaborate with OEG Programming & Artist Relations on shared industry initiatives and artist-facing strategies.
- Lead planning and execution of elevated one-off events in partnership with venue leadership, marketing, and sponsorship teams, leveraging sponsorship dollars to enhance programming.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 4 years' experience as talent buyer, booking agent, or related music industry position
- Proven track record in booking live entertainment with up-to-date knowledge of Country, Americana, Bluegrass, and related genres across emerging, established, and legacy artists
- Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to meet deadlines through strong organizational and strategic planning skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, judgment, and integrity
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record required
