As an Order Filler at Ryerson, you are responsible for filling orders as they come in through the queue and maintain warehouse workflow.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Load and unload the trucks
- Operate lift truck, side loader, and overhead crane
- Use SAP operating system to place, track, and fulfill customer orders
- Package and prepare material for shipment
- Final packaging of material per customer specification
- Working in a safe manner as outlined during training and using prescribed safety equipment, including PPE
- All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice
Requirements
- Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing
- Previous overhead crane or forklift crane experience preferred
- Basic math and reading skills
- Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer
- Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, mobility, and lifting requirements
- Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding
Starting wage for this position is $25.99 per hour, according to our union contract.
