POSITION SUMMARY:

The Bookkeeper is responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations of the YMCA association and supports accurate financial reporting, internal controls, and fiscal accountability across all locations. This position works closely with the Business Manager, CFO and leadership to ensure accurate and timely accounts payable and receivable processing. The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Ensure accurate coding of revenues and expenses

· Oversee accounts payable processes including invoice entry, approvals, and payment processing

· Monitor accounts receivable balances and assist with collections as needed

· Record daily cash activity with proper coding in accounting system

· Making bank deposits at the local branch

· Prepare monthly departmental reports

· Assist as needed with annual audit preparation and supporting documentation

· Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation for compliance purposes

· Ensure adherence to YMCA fiscal policies and internal controls

· Help improve accounting workflows and efficiencies across locations

· Reconciliation of monthly credit card statements

· Preparation of monthly program billing

· Preparation of the annual 1099 forms

· Maintain accurate Vendor records

· Assist with other tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Nonprofit or multi-location accounting experience preferred.
Understanding of accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting, excel and accounting software systems
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities independently.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.
The employee frequently is required to sit and reach and must be able to move around the work environment.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Close up and distance vision specifically required, as well as the ability to adjust.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

WORK SCHEDULE: 20 HOURS PER WEEK

HOURLY WAGE RANGE: $25 PER HOUR

Pay: $25.00 per hour
