Food Runner/Busser

We are hiring Food Runners/Bussers!

Scope & General Purpose: The Food Runner / Busser plays a key role in maintaining the flow of service and overall guest experience. This position supports the front-of-house team by delivering food accurately and efficiently, maintaining a clean and organized dining room, and ensuring tables are reset quickly and properly for incoming guests.

This role is fast-paced, team-oriented, and requires strong awareness of the dining room at all times.

Schedule: Varying schedule, across Rye's business hours

Management Structure: Reports to General Manager

Core Responsibilities

· Maintain a sense of urgency without sacrificing accuracy

· Be attentive, present, and responsive to guests and team members

· Keep work areas clean, organized, and stocked at all times

· Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company standards

· Communicate clearly and respectfully with all team members

Food Running

· Deliver food from the kitchen to guests quickly and accurately

· Ensure all plates match tickets and seat positions before leaving the pass

· Communicate clearly with expo, kitchen, and service team

· Describe dishes when running food and answer basic guest questions when needed

· Monitor tables after delivery and assist with anything guests may need

Dining Room Support

· Clear and reset tables efficiently to maintain table turns

· Pre-bus tables throughout service to support servers

· Refill water and assist with beverage service as needed

· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, including floors, chairs, and surrounding areas

Service Flow & Team Support

· Assist servers, bartenders, and hosts to ensure smooth service

· Stay aware of pacing, table status, and guest needs

· Help run drinks, food, or other items as needed

· Support opening and closing side work duties

Requirements:

· Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized under pressure

· Strong communication and teamwork skills

· Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

· Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
