Position: Electrical Journeyman

Job Description:

Rye Electric Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Journeyman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting in commercial settings. You will work independently or as part of a team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and up to code.

Required Qualifications:

• Current Washington State General Journey-Level Electrician (01) certificate.
• Minimum 3–5 years of commercial electrical experience preferred.
• Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting temporary power systems.
• Experience installing temporary construction lighting.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), Washington electrical regulations, and jobsite safety requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Experience with electrical panels, circuits, breakers, conduit, and power distribution.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues on an active construction site.
• Willingness to perform general construction labor and assist other trades when electrical work is limited.
• Ability to maintain accurate daily reports, labor hours, and progress documentation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with site management and other contractors.
• Reliable transportation and ability to report consistently to the Bellevue jobsite.
• Ability to safely lift materials, climb ladders, and work in an active construction environment.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 construction safety training preferred.
• Availability for ongoing work through early 2027.
• Willingness to become a direct W-2 employee of Rye Electric.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working on large commercial construction projects.
• Experience coordinating temporary power with general contractors.
• Familiarity with electrical permitting and inspection procedures in Bellevue.
• Experience with conveyor electrical connections and equipment installations.
• Ability to identify material requirements and communicate supply needs.
• Strong organizational skills and dependable attendance.
• Experience working with remote project managers and submitting daily field updates.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00 - $35.00 per hour
