Rye Country Day School is seeking a full time Upper School Mathematics Teacher to join the faculty beginning in August 2026. Specific responsibilities of the position include:Teach four Upper School sections of MathematicsCollaborate with colleagues to develop a dynamic curriculum that fosters a love of math and builds students’ critical thinking and analytical reasoning skillsDevelop daily lessons that produce a high-level of student engagement in a student-centered environmentGrade student assignments and provide timely, constructive feedback of their workRegularly write reports that evaluate student performance and demonstrate knowledge of students’ experiencesParticipate in faculty and departmental meetings, field trips, special activities, and rotational dutiesSeek out and participate in professional growth opportunities embracing a growth mindset Serve as advisor to a group of Upper School studentsDesired qualifications:Master’s degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education required3-5 years of experience teaching in an Upper School settingA well-developed sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community members; a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusionExcitement for working with Upper School studentsExcellent oral, written, and organizational skillsAbility to support the extra-curricular life of the school Genuine excitement for and ability to work with students, employees, and familiesRCDS seeks faculty and staff who support our mission to foster a lifelong passion for learning, understanding, and service in an ever-changing world, and who share our commitment to creating and sustaining a vibrant, thriving, and inclusive multicultural learning community.
