Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results
People
- Create a positive team member experience.
- Understands service line offerings with sufficient depth to be able to discuss service line offerings with prospects.
- Identifies, researches, and pursues prospects to generate new business for the Firm.
- Identifies and pursues additional business with existing clients not currently engaged for Property Tax services.
- Cold calls and maintains contact with prospects and clients through telephone and e-mail.
- Attends internal client and prospect meetings with Principals as needed.
- Sets qualified business development appointments.
- Compile information needed for client and prospect meetings.
- Utilizes all available resources and data bases to research opportunities for prospects and clients and provide information for client pitches, meetings, proposals, and competitor analyses.
- Compiles meeting notes, ensuring all commitments made, action items, and key points, are accurately and completely captured.
- Follows up on all matters requiring attention, utilizing resources from across the organization to deliver desired outcomes.
- Seeks and maintains awareness of client and prospect priorities of highest importance to the Client Service Principals and ensures they are given appropriate attention.
- Coordinates with the Principal regarding their targets and develops/recommends customer-specific solutions for needs identified by the Client Service Principals.
- Provides support in negotiations, contract development, and due diligence.
- Researches, identifies, qualifies, and targets potential clients, and develops access strategy to initiate contacts.
- Maintains market awareness of industry and clients, as well as benchmarking and competitive information inclusive of tax/geography/industry-specific issues.
- Maintains familiarity with Ryan organizational structure, practice and support areas, and related personnel. Develops solid working relationships with key groups and staff.
- Escalates client and prospect-related issues to the Principal, when necessary.
- Maintains connectivity to e-mail and voice mail on-going to monitor issues that require immediate attention.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in business, accounting, finance, sales, marketing, or communication preferred.
- Two or more years solution-based selling, business development support, and/or client service experience.
- Must have basic skills in Microsoft® Excel and Access, intermediate skills in Microsoft® Outlook, and advanced skills in Microsoft® Word, CRM (or similar client relationship management or sales management tool), and Internet navigation and research.
- Experience leveraging social media sites.
- Valid driver’s license
- Occasional non-standard working hours and overtime
- Experience with confidential and proprietary information
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate skills in Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce CRM, and Internet navigation and research.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- This position requires no supervisory responsibilities.

- Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
- Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the Firm; interface with clients and external vendors as necessary.
- Independent travel requirement: 0 to 10%.
