Position Overview
Ryan Smeader State Farm Agent is seeking a licensed, motivated, and customer-focused professional to join our team in Kalamazoo, MI. This is a full-time, in-office position for someone who enjoys building relationships, helping customers protect what matters most, and contributing to a growing agency through both sales and service.
In this role, you will assist new and existing customers with insurance products and services, policy changes, renewals, and coverage questions while also identifying opportunities to recommend additional products based on customer needs. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, energetic, and comfortable balancing customer service with sales responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service to new and existing customers
- Educate customers on insurance products, coverage options, billing, and policy changes
- Assist with policy applications, renewals, endorsements, and account updates
- Follow up on quotes, renewals, and customer inquiries in a timely manner
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate insurance products and services
- Support agency sales and retention goals through proactive outreach and relationship building
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and policy activity
- Respond to phone, email, and in-office inquiries with professionalism and urgency
- Work closely with team members to deliver an excellent customer experience
Qualifications
- Ability To Obtain insurance license required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Sales-minded with a customer-first approach
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced office environment
- Customer service and/or sales experience preferred
- Ability to build rapport and maintain strong customer relationships
- Strong follow-up skills and professional communication
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn agency systems
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dependable attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous insurance agency experience
- Experience in inside sales, customer service, or account management
- Bilingual skills are a plus
