What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Office Manager position at Ryan D Michelson DDS?
Looking for a Dental Office Manager for a small practice in Saginaw, MI. 4/5 hygiene days per week. Would prefer some dental training if possible managing some of the duties needed. Also a team player! Would also like to assist in adding an additional front receptionist in the near future to aid in these duties!
- Pay negotiable
- 401k, PTO, holiday pay.

Mondays and Tuesdays 8-5
Wednesdays 7-3
Thursday 7-3
Some Key Responsibilities include:
Office Operations
- Manage daily office activities to ensure smooth workflow and patient satisfaction.
- Develop and implement office policies and procedures.
- Coordinate scheduling, patient flow, and appointment management.
- Maintain office supplies, equipment maintenance schedules, and vendor relationships.
Staff Management
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate administrative staff.
- Create employee schedules and manage time-off requests.
- Conduct staff meetings and promote a positive workplace culture.
- Address employee performance issues and provide coaching.
Patient Relations
- Ensure high-quality customer service and patient experience.
- Handle patient concerns, complaints, and inquiries professionally.
- Monitor patient retention and satisfaction initiatives.
Financial Management
- Oversee billing, collections, and accounts receivable.
- Monitor daily deposits and financial reports.
- Assist with budgeting, payroll coordination, and expense management.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production, collections, and case acceptance rates.
Insurance and Compliance
- Verify insurance coverage and oversee claims processing.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate patient records and office documentation
Practice Growth
- Support marketing and patient acquisition efforts.
- Analyze practice performance metrics and recommend improvements.
- Assist with treatment plan presentation and financial arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- 2–5 years of dental office management or dental administration experience.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes.
- Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
