Ryan Construction Services is seeking experienced Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Operators and Locators to join our team.
Position Overview
Ryan Construction Services is looking for reliable, safety-minded HDD Operators and Locators with experience in underground utility construction. Ideal candidates take pride in quality work, communicate well in the field, and can work as part of a crew to complete projects safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Operate HDD drilling equipment or locating equipment in a safe and productive manner.
- Assist with bore planning, setup, drilling, pullback, and cleanup.
- Read and follow utility locates, prints, job plans, and crew instructions.
- Maintain awareness of underground utilities and jobsite hazards.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
- Work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.
- Follow company safety policies and communicate clearly with crew members and supervisors.
Qualifications
- Previous HDD operating or locating experience preferred.
- Knowledge of underground utility construction practices is a plus.
- Ability to work safely around equipment, traffic, and active job sites.
- Valid driver’s license preferred; CDL is a plus.
- Ability to lift, carry, and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Dependable attendance and willingness to travel or work overtime as needed.
