Position Summary:

This position is a temporary hire role. Ryan Infrastructure Services is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Tugboat Operator / Captain to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Hampton Roads waterways, possess the necessary certifications and endorsements, and demonstrate strong leadership skills to manage a crew effectively.

The project will run 12 hours per day, operating seven days a week, with an expected completion date in October, 2026.

We will need an immediate workforce of in the Asheville / Marion, NC area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and navigate the tugboat with safety and precision in local waters.
• Ensure compliance with all maritime regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.
• Lead and manage a crew, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
• Maintain the tugboat to a firstclass standard, ensuring it is in optimal working condition.
• Conduct regular vessel inspections, perform maintenance, and address any necessary repairs.
• Communicate effectively with the crew, management, and other vessels to ensure
• smooth operations.
• Utilize extensive knowledge of the Hampton Roads waterways for safe and efficient
• navigation.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Qualifications:
• Valid 200 Ton Towing Endorsement / Master of Towing.
• Proper Coast Guard licenses and certifications.
• Proven experience operating tugboats, particularly in the Hampton Roads area.
• Strong leadership and crew management abilities.
• Dedication to safety and operational excellence.

Pay: $45 - $50/Hourly (Depending on experience)
