We are seeking a Heat Press Operator to join our Heat Press Department in a fast-paced production environment. Our print shop operates inside a custom tablecloth manufacturer, so the volume of fabric moving through this department is significantly higher than a typical print shop. This role is responsible for operating the heat press, maintaining accurate production records, and collaborating across departments to keep production on schedule. Strong performers will have the opportunity to grow into a lead or supervisory role over time.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate the heat press and support efficient workflow throughout the department.
• Transfer printed paper onto custom textiles to fulfill daily production schedules.
• Track and document all pressed fabric items and maintain accurate transfer records between departments.
• Review daily production printouts to confirm items scheduled for pressing and prepare upcoming production needs.
• Coordinate communication regarding damaged materials and same-day production issues with relevant departments.
• Identify, document, and report damaged items or shortages.
• Obtain required signatures and documentation when transferring materials to the Cutting Department.
• Work alongside Custom Printing and Cutting teams to support job prioritization and production sequencing.
• Assist in maintaining quality standards and operational efficiency throughout the production process.
• Ensure completed items are transferred promptly to the next stage of production when ready.
• Monitor heat press equipment and report maintenance or operational issues to appropriate personnel for service coordination.
• Support a clean, organized, and productive work environment within the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in heat press, calendar press, garment production, textile manufacturing, printing, or related production environments
• Experience in small T-shirt printing shops or similar settings will be considered
• Strong attention to detail and a focused, engaged approach to the work
• Ability to work collaboratively with production, printing, and cutting teams
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate production records
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong communication and coordination skills across departments
• Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to address production issues efficiently
• Willingness to work overtime hours during peak production seasons (April through end of June and September through first week of December); overtime is not mandatory but recommended for long-term growth into lead or supervisory roles
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, not required
• Ability to commit to a minimum of 8 hours per day
