TITLE: CNC Machinist 2nd Shift
TYPE: Direct Hire

ONSITE/REMOTE/HYBRID: Onsite
START DATE: September/October 2023
SHIFT: 2nd Shift, 3:30 pm-12:00 am M-F
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up, program (G M code), and operate CNC lathes and/or grinders, gear shapers, and milling machines.
- Carry out part inspections as needed.
- Accountable for deburring all parts after the machining operation to satisfy the necessary qualifications.
- Manage correct daily labor time documentation and correct entries on appropriate manufacturing paperwork.
- Must be able to evaluate and solve complicated machining problems and give suggestions for tooling and process revisions.
- Manage work areas and equipment in an orderly, safe, and clean manner and carry out simple precautionary maintenance activities as needed.
- Run several pieces of equipment at once when cycle time permits.
- Oversee all productivity and quality criteria.
- Encourage a professional, positive environment and bolster activities that improve the morale and welfare of employees.
- Encourage and make certain of a safe work atmosphere by showing constant adherence to company safety guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 5 to 10 years of experience in setting up and operating CNC turning and/or grinding, milling, and gear shaping machines, including making tool offsets, program edits, and compensations.
- Must have the ability to work freely from sketches, oral, blueprints, or written guidelines without oversight or technical assistance.
- Must have a comprehensive understanding of normal shop inspection tools such as Vernier calipers, bore gages, micrometers, dial indicators, andCMMs and be adept with all forms of inspection procedures.
- Outstanding knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), tooling, thread nomenclature, and cutting principles is required.
- Must be skilled in Geometry, Algebra, and Trigonometry. Mechanical drafting and computer skills in CAD and Solid Works are a plus.
- High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent is required.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
