Senior Techincal Architect

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Certified Senior Architect to join our team with a strong technical background and experience in architecture for digital portals, AWS, CMS, and multiple integrations—both direct and through an orchestration layer. The Senior Architect will be responsible for leading complex projects, working with clients to understand their needs, and developing creative solutions to meet their requirements.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into a solution vision, identifying solution options, and developing high-level business or IT system specifications
• Prepare high-level designs, ensuring adherence to requirements, design principles, and overall solution vision
• Develop technology specifications and leverage existing technologies to ensure new solutions are optimized for business use
• Apply architectural and engineering concepts to design solutions that meet business requirements, considering aspects like scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, flexibility, availability, and manageability
• Optimize system performance and reliability to handle growing data and user demands
• Provide technical oversight and governance, ensuring adherence to RWS coding standards
• Offer insight and guidance as to the most appropriate technical solutions
• Align with other tech leads to ensure integrations are planned into roadmaps as appropriate
• Manage risk related to delivery timelines, compliance, or technical platform selection
• Champion and embed Agile processes following RWS digital standards

Technical Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentoring to the development team in implementing Java-based solutions
• Design and implement microservices architecture using Java frameworks such as Spring Boot, hibernate etc
• Design, Develop and maintain middleware and orchestration layers using Java and microservices architecture
• Ensure compliance with CI/CD pipelines leveraging tools like Jenkins and Azure DevOps
• Apply best practices in unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews
• Utilize version control systems such as GIT for effective collaboration and change management
• Leverage cloud platforms (AWS preferred) to deploy, monitor, and optimize Java-based applications
• Review code and collaborate with the development team to implement solutions effectively

Skills & Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience (15 years overall, 3 years in a similar role)
• Strong expertise in Java (latest version) with hands-on experience in architecture and implementation
• Proven experience in designing, integrating, and managing complex solutions across multiple platforms and technologies
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g MongoDB)
• Good knowledge of messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar
• Deep understanding of microservices design patterns, event- driven architecture
• Good knowledge of caching systems like Redis, Memcached, Hazelcast or similar
• Comprehensive understanding of hardware, software, applications, and systems engineering
• Design enterprise-grade auditing frameworks to capture and store system and application events securely
• Experience with front- end technologies, specifically React, CSS and AJAX
• Proficiency in DevOps tools like Jenkins, JIRA, and CI/CD pipelines
• Cloud experience (AWS preferred) with strong knowledge of deployment and monitoring
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage workloads effectively, prioritize tasks, and multitask in a fast-paced environment
