About RWS Freight

RWS Freight is a growing U.S.-based freight brokerage operated by Rickywise Services LLC. We are building a disciplined, technology-supported brokerage focused on shipper acquisition, reliable carrier capacity, strong communication, carrier verification, payment-risk controls, operational accountability, and long-term customer relationships.

We are seeking an experienced freight brokerage professional to work directly with the Owner to acquire shipper customers, manage freight operations, improve internal processes, and support the development of a high-performing brokerage team.

This is an opportunity to join RWS Freight during its early growth stage and potentially grow into a larger leadership role based on verified performance, reliability, compliance, and business results.

Position Overview

RWS Freight is seeking a Senior Freight Broker & Brokerage Growth Lead with strong knowledge of U.S. freight brokerage sales and operations.

This is not an entry-level position.

The ideal candidate can prospect for shippers, build customer relationships, qualify freight opportunities, quote lanes, negotiate rates, source and verify carriers, manage loads from booking through delivery, solve operational problems, maintain accurate records, and improve brokerage processes.

The selected candidate will initially work directly with the Owner. As the company grows, the candidate may train and mentor agents, support brokerage operations, improve sales processes, and assume additional leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect, identify, qualify, and acquire new shipper customers.
  • Build a sustainable and profitable book of business for RWS Freight.
  • Conduct professional cold calls, emails, follow-ups, virtual meetings, and shipper presentations.
  • Identify transportation decision-makers and understand shipper freight needs.
  • Develop Dry Van freight opportunities and support other approved equipment types.
  • Build and maintain a documented sales pipeline and follow company prospecting and follow-up procedures.
  • Generate qualified quote and trial-load opportunities.
  • Analyze freight lanes, prepare competitive and profitable quotes, negotiate shipper/carrier rates, protect margins, and maintain customer relationships.
  • Source qualified carriers through approved load boards, carrier networks, and company resources.
  • Follow all carrier verification procedures and never assign freight to an unverified carrier.
  • Follow RWS Freight shipper verification, credit, and payment-risk procedures before accepting freight.
  • Manage loads through tender, carrier assignment, pickup, tracking, exception management, delivery, POD collection, and billing handoff.
  • Maintain accurate information in the RWS Freight Lead & Load Tracker and authorized company systems.
  • Record prospecting activity, calls, emails, follow-ups, quotes, communications, load updates, and operational issues.
  • Communicate proactively with shippers, carriers, drivers, and management.
  • Identify and escalate suspected fraud, double brokering, cargo theft risks, identity discrepancies, suspicious payment changes, cargo incidents, and other operational risks.
  • Protect RWS Freight confidential information, shipper relationships, carrier information, rates, systems, data, and business opportunities.
  • Assist the Owner with sales processes, SOPs, operational procedures, training materials, and brokerage growth strategies.
  • Train, mentor, and support additional freight broker agents when authorized.
Required Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of hands-on freight brokerage experience; 3 years of verifiable experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. freight brokerage operations.
  • Experience prospecting for shippers, developing freight opportunities, or managing shipper accounts.
  • Experience quoting freight and negotiating shipper/carrier rates.
  • Understanding of lane pricing, gross profit, and freight margins.
  • Experience sourcing carriers through DAT, other load boards, or professional carrier networks.
  • Knowledge of carrier onboarding and verification.
  • Understanding of carrier fraud, identity theft, cargo theft, and double-brokering risks.
  • Experience managing loads from booking through delivery.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate reliably in a remote environment.
  • Reliable computer, internet connection, and professional work environment.
  • Ability and willingness to follow RWS Freight SOPs, security controls, verification requirements, and documentation procedures.
Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with proven shipper acquisition results, profitable freight business history, experience managing a book of business, lawful existing shipper relationships, Dry Van experience, agent training or brokerage leadership experience, experience helping build or scale a brokerage, and experience with TMS platforms, CRM systems, DAT, carrier-vetting tools, shipment-tracking platforms, and freight technology.

Applicants with an existing book of business must be legally permitted to solicit and service those accounts. RWS Freight does not request or authorize misuse of confidential information, trade secrets, or customer relationships belonging to current or former employers.

Performance Expectations

The selected candidate must maintain consistent prospecting and follow-up activity, build a documented pipeline, maintain accurate records, generate quote/trial-load opportunities, convert qualified prospects into active customers, protect company margins, follow shipper credit/payment-risk controls and carrier verification requirements, manage assigned loads professionally, communicate problems promptly, protect company information/customer relationships, and help improve operations.

Performance will be evaluated based on verified results, profitability, customer service, documentation quality, reliability, and compliance—not simply call volume.

Compensation & Growth Opportunity

This position is initially intended to be performance-based and commission-based.

The final compensation structure and worker relationship will be established in a written agreement and must comply with applicable laws based on the candidate’s location and working arrangement.

Compensation may depend on experience, responsibilities, verified gross profit generated, business results, leadership responsibilities, and whether the candidate has an active book of business they are legally permitted to service.

RWS Freight does not guarantee salary, hourly compensation, customer accounts, load volume, or minimum earnings unless expressly stated in a written agreement.

Candidates demonstrating strong performance, reliability, leadership, compliance, and profitable business growth may be considered for expanded responsibilities and future leadership opportunities.

Customer Ownership & Book of Business Policy

All shipper prospects, leads, quotes, customer opportunities, and business generated through RWS Freight resources, systems, company accounts, company data, or assigned work must be documented according to company procedures.

Applicants must not disclose, use, transfer, or solicit confidential information, customer lists, trade secrets, or shipper relationships in violation of obligations owed to current/former employers, brokerages, customers, or third parties.

Compliance & Security Requirements

All team members must follow RWS Freight policies, agreements, SOPs, security requirements, and verification procedures.

Shipper identity, credit, and payment risk must be reviewed according to company procedures before accepting freight. Only carriers completing required verification may receive loads.

No agent, contractor, manager, or team member may bypass company controls to increase sales, load volume, or commissions.

Fraud, unauthorized double brokering, falsification of records, unauthorized disclosure of confidential information, intentional circumvention of company procedures, theft/diversion of company opportunities, customer diversion, or other serious violations may result in termination of the working relationship and other remedies available under applicable agreements and law.

Application Requirements

Applicants should submit:

  • Full name, country, and time zone.
  • Resume or professional profile.
  • Years of freight brokerage experience and previous responsibilities.
  • Freight types/equipment handled.
  • Shipper acquisition experience.
  • Approximate historical load volume.
  • Historical gross profit performance, if available and reasonably verifiable.
  • Load boards, TMS, CRM, and carrier-vetting tools used.
  • Experience handling fraud or double-brokering situations.
  • Experience training or managing agents.
  • Whether they have an active book of business they are legally permitted to service.
  • Two professional freight-industry references.
  • Desired commission structure.
  • Work availability and earliest start date.
Candidate Selection Process

Application Review → Initial Video Interview → Experience Verification → Shipper Prospecting Exercise → Cold-Call Roleplay → Lane Pricing & Margin Exercise → Carrier Verification/Fraud Scenario → Load Operations Problem-Solving Scenario → CRM Documentation Test → Professional Reference Checks → Agreement & Worker-Classification Review → Limited-Access Trial Period → Final Approval.
