What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Technologist position at RWJBarnabas Health?
Job Overview:
Performs ultrasound exams at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative. Performs formal and informal instruction when necessary, particularly to students. Maintain a high level of continuing education. Participate in "call".
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Graduate
- Completion of an approved Ultrasound program that meets the requirements set by the RDMS
- 0-1 years of experience as a staff technologist
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Must be certified by the RDMS or eligible to become certified within six months of employment
Scheduling Requirements:
- Day shift with nights and weekends coverage
- Per Diem
Essential Functions:
- Perform General and Vascular Ultrasound
- Explains all procedures to patients
- Assist Radiologists and Surgeons, as needed
- Review charts, scripts and referrals and orders with all correct pertinent information
- Order supplies, as needed
- Run s Open orders and Charges out incomplete exams daily
