Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association only
- Successful completion of all Orientation Programs and Documentation
- 1 year patient care experience
- BLS certification through American Heart Association
- Days
- Per Diem
- Mandatory Orientation
- Answers telephone/intercom in a polite manner and communicates information to appropriate personnel/family
- Applies knee immobilizer, splints, slings, and ace bandages and assists with ambulation techniques
- Assists with nutritional needs of patients under supervision of RN
- Assists with patient positioning and repositioning as required
- Communicates pertinent patient information to appropriate individual
- Completes personal hygiene for patients
- Complies with unit and department scheduling
- Implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and Nursing Department
- Initiates cardiac monitoring and performs 2 lead EKG
- Performs phlebotomy and point of care testing
- Prepares emergency equipment at bedside ie.; suction, oxygen, IV equipment
- Records patient intake and output
