Role Description This full-time, on-site Certified Medical Assistant role is based in East Brunswick, NJ. The Certified Medical Assistant supports physicians and advanced practice providers by preparing exam rooms, taking and recording vital signs, updating medical histories, and assisting with procedures. Daily responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, administering injections and other basic treatments as permitted, performing EKGs and other diagnostic tests, and ensuring accurate documentation in medical records. The role also involves managing phone calls, scheduling, and follow-up tasks, as well as maintaining supplies, adhering to infection control standards, and supporting a safe, welcoming environment for all patients.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Medical Assisting, including clinical and administrative support tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately understand and communicate clinical information.
  • Experience working in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, and coordination of care.
  • Hands-on Patient Care skills, such as obtaining vital signs, assisting with exams and procedures, and providing patient instructions.
  • Ability to manage and maintain Medical Records with attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with a commitment to respectful, inclusive patient care.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
  • Prior experience in a multi-specialty or primary care practice is preferred.
