Job Overview:

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion DEI Site Director is responsible for the successful implementation and ongoing management of targeted DEI initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Diversity Officer and working in partnership with the hospital CEO or designated hospital leader, this role supports the full execution of the Corporate Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion CODEI System deployment plan. The Director will align DEI strategies with mission-driven health equity goals and business objectives while serving as a subject matter expert and champion for innovation and inclusion.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion experience
  • Proficiency in organizational change models and strategies for driving systemic change
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously,
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to influence and coach leaders effectively
  • Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills, with demonstrated ability to engage diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred:

  • Masters degree preferred
  • Healthcare experience strongly preferred

Schedule Requirements:

  • Requires on-site accessibility and availability for system-wide travel as needed

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead the integration and expansion of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs and strategies at the assigned hospital, fostering a culture of inclusion and equity
  • Develop, lead, and manage BRGs/affinity groups, including oversight of budgets, project timelines, operational planning, and execution of charters and steering committees
  • Identify and engage executive sponsors to ensure alignment with organizational goals
  • Oversee and support BRG-led initiatives, including community programs and internal events
  • Work with Patient Access to train employees on inclusive demographic data collection, including sexual orientation, sex assigned at birth, gender identity, and preferred names
  • Collaborate with Patient Experience to enhance language access services for patients with limited English proficiency
  • Analyze DEI metrics and research industry best practices to inform and refine DEI initiatives and strategies
  • Conduct weekly unit rounding to foster collaboration with leaders, identify opportunities, and provide real-time responses to emerging needs
  • Measure outcomes to ensure alignment with CODEI goals and continuous improvement
  • Design, and implement trainings and education
  • Shape and sustain an inclusive, respectful workplace culture for employees and practitioners
  • Promote the delivery of culturally and linguistically competent care to patients and their families
  • Attend and host monthly team meetings at rotating hospital locations to cultivate, foster and promote innovation, best practices and comradery for team building and engagement
  • Other duties as assigned to advance DEI goals and organizational objectives
