Job Overview:
The Food Runner at our hospital plays a crucial role in our patient care experience. This position involves ensuring the timely delivery of meals to patients, maintaining dietary guidelines, and contributing to a positive atmosphere. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and committed to providing excellent service.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Successful completion of general and department specific orientation
- Previous experience in a food service role
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and food safety standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work in a very fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Experience in a healthcare setting
- Certification in food handling and safety
- Bilingual abilities
- Excellent problem-solving skills
Scheduling Requirements:
- Shift working 3:00pm -8:00pm
Must be available to work on weekends and holidays
Essential Functions:
- Deliver meals to patients in a timely and respectful manner
- Adhere to dietary restrictions and guidelines for each patient
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of food service areas
- Collaborate with the healthcare and dietary team to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Assist in inventory management and meal preparation as needed.
