LOCATION: RWJ Hamilton

SUMMARY: We are currently looking for a Physician Assistant to be part of the Perioperative Services at our institution

JOB FUNCTIONS:

The candidate will be a critical member of the surgical team, caring for patients with surgical problems/needs, and related surgical procedures, which also includes Obstetrics and Gynecology

The candidate will be involved in:

• Evaluating and managing patients with surgical diseases
• Performing bed side procedures when appropriate
• Assisting the surgeon in the operating room
• Ensuring continuum of care between the inpatient and outpatient areas
• Will be required to be on-call, during the evenings/nights/weekends and holidays on rotation

The successful candidate will function in full compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care,=

Perioperative preparation and postoperative clinical management will be conducted in collaboration with the attending physician and other health care professionals

Experience with surgical patients is highly preferred

Experience with Robotics is preferred but is not the deciding factor

QUALIFICATIONS:

Board certified or Board eligible surgeon, Credentialed RNFA or Physician s Assistant

Possess a current Basic Life Support Certification BLS, required

Possess a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS, required
