Job Overview:

The PACU Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures,

Qualifications:

Required:

• ASN or Nursing diploma (Must be willing to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire date)
• 1-2 years acute care experience

Preferred:

• BSN preferred
• Clinical ladder possibilities
• Critical Care, PACU, or ER experience strongly preferred

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• AHA BLS and ACLS
• Current New Jersey RN license

Scheduling Requirements:

• Position is for days, per-diem

Responsibilities:

• The nurse is responsible for closely monitoring vital signs.
• Managing post-anesthesia complications
• Ensuring patient safety
• Preparing patients for discharge or transfer to inpatient units
