The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Director of Plant Operations reports to the Assistant Vice President of Facility Operations and is responsible for managing a staff up to 20 FTEs You will maintain 800,000 square feet of space in an acute care hospital, manage the site grounds maintenance for a 67 acre campus, assist in the maintenance and property management of offsite locations, manage departmental operating budget including utilities expenses for hospital and subsidiary entities, and ensure compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelors' of Science degree in engineering or related field of study required
• At least five years of supervisory experience in an equivalent position in an acute care hospital
• Must have experience with HVAC systems, emergency generator and electrical systems, plumbing, and construction
• Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Proficiency with Computer Assisted Drafting CAD software is required

Preferred:

• Masters Science Degree in engineering and /or New Jersey Professional Engineer License preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full-Time

Essential Functions:

• Manage the departmental budget,
• Manage up to 20 FTEs,
• Ensure/Assess the regulatory preparedness of the department,
• Maintain the ESOC for the hospital,
• Conduct required testing and inspections in accordance with NFPA, New Jersey Department of Health, and the Joint Commission,
• Conduct and manage minor renovations,
• Support the hospital s stated mission,
• Provide TEAMWORK and support the various departments within the hospital,
• Ensure mission critical equipment is operating correctly,
• Ensure the department conducts maintenance in a safe manner,
• Ensure departmental staff complete required training,
