Mechanical Technicians are assigned to perform maintenance activities supporting safe and reliable operations. Resources may be ExxonMobil employees or contractor personnel and typically report directly to a supervisor.
This position supports maintenance and reliability efforts with a strong emphasis on pumps, air compressors, rotating equipment, and mechanical systems. Candidates should be capable of independently executing maintenance work, documenting technical findings, and supporting equipment reliability initiatives in a production environment.
Main Functions
Candidates with strong hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting pumps, air compressors, and rotating equipment in an oil & gas production environment will be most competitive for this opportunity.

Candidates should be capable of independently executing maintenance work, documenting technical findings, and supporting equipment reliability initiatives in a production environment.
Main Functions
- Perform mechanical maintenance activities on facility equipment.
- Support mechanical engineers with testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning.
- Estimate workloads and assist with scheduling activities.
- Support equipment reliability and maintenance improvement efforts.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and technical documentation.
- Participate in all applicable safety programs and procedures.
- Estimate workload requirements to establish completion dates.
- Assist mechanical engineers in planning and testing mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.
- Support proposal preparation and cost estimate development.
- Actively participate in the use of all job safety tools.
- Review job packs prior to execution.
- Identify and mitigate safety concerns before work begins.
- Execute maintenance activities as planned.
- Record technical history as required by the workgroup (GRT, datasheets, etc.).
- Provide feedback on job pack improvements to the Execution FLS.
- Request permits and notify supervision if permits cannot be issued within 30 minutes of the requested time.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on pumps and air compressors.
- Discipline-appropriate certification(s) if applicable, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with pumps and air compressor maintenance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate field conditions and recommend corrective actions.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to assist others.
- Ability to work under changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Pump mechanic experience is a major plus
- Oil & gas production facility maintenance experience.
- Rotating equipment maintenance and repair.
- Preventive and corrective maintenance execution.
- Equipment reliability and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience documenting maintenance activities in maintenance management systems.
