Key Responsibilities
Operations & Maintenance
- Perform daily operation and monitoring of compressor stations and associated equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and operational checks of compressors, engines, auxiliary systems, and related facilities.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues both in the field and through remote monitoring systems.
- Coordinate and schedule compressor maintenance and repair activities.
- Track, document, and report equipment downtime and extended outages.
- Support startup, shutdown, and optimization efforts to maximize equipment availability and performance.
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of 10–30 contractors performing maintenance and repair work.
- Ensure contractor adherence to company safety policies, procedures, and permit requirements.
- Review and audit Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and work execution practices.
- Conduct field inspections, purging activities, and Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) activities.
- Utilize company work management platforms to create, assign, and track vendor work requests.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, operational, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate daily with Foremen, Operators, Mechanics, vendors, and contractors.
- Communicate equipment status, operational concerns, and maintenance priorities to leadership.
- Assist with onboarding and mentoring less experienced personnel as needed.
- Support additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Supervisor.
Level I
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0–2 years of experience in compressor operations, production operations, or mechanical maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of gas compression equipment and field operations.
- Ability to learn troubleshooting and remote monitoring systems.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3–5 years of experience in gas compression, midstream, or upstream operations.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot compressor and facility issues independently.
- Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance activities.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5 years of experience operating and maintaining gas compression systems.
- Strong knowledge of compressor diagnostics, reliability, and field maintenance practices.
- Proven experience leading contractor activities and coordinating multiple priorities across a regional area.
- Experience with downtime reporting, work management systems, and remote monitoring platforms.
- Experience with reciprocating and screw compressors.
- Familiarity with SCADA, remote monitoring, and digital reporting systems.
- Working knowledge of LDAR requirements and environmental compliance.
- Experience using work order and maintenance management systems.
- Strong understanding of safe work practices, permits, JSAs, and contractor management.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong safety mindset and commitment to operational excellence.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced field environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
