Job Title: Safety Manager
Location: Owings Mills, MD or Springfield, NJ
Reports To: Safety Management Team
Overview:
The Safety Manager is primarily responsible for leading and managing the company’s safety initiatives and loss control programs while developing and maintaining a culture of safety and best practices throughout the company.

Responsibilities:
These responsibilities/functions may include but are not limited to the following:
· Lead and manage the company’s safety program across active construction projects, offices, and field operations.
· Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with OSHA, client requirements, and company expectations.
· Conduct jobsite inspections, audits, and risk assessments, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and documented.
· Partner with project managers and field leadership to develop site-specific safety plans, pre-task planning, and hazard controls for high-risk work.
· Lead incident, injury, and near-miss investigations and track corrective actions through resolution.
· Provide safety training, coaching, and field support to supervisors, crews, and staff to reinforce safe work practices and hazard awareness.
· Oversee safety documentation, OSHA logs, training records, permits, inspections, and related compliance reporting.
· Manage subcontractor safety expectations, participate in project meetings, and represent the company on safety matters with clients, regulators, and project stakeholders.
· Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions exist and support continuous improvement of the company’s safety culture and performance.
Required Competencies/Skills
· OSHA 30 and/or NFPA course work or certifications
· Minimum 2 years of experience as a safety professional at a General Contractor
· Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 25 pounds regularly/occasionally. Sedentary work. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and or fingers
· Minimum of an associate degree in a related field preferred
· Construction Union background a plus
· Bilingual in Spanish a plus
